Dr. John Sherdon is a practicing DOM and Acupuncturist in Sante Fe, NM & New York, NY. He works closely with Dr. Lancaster at the office of Light Harmonics integrating his Eastern Medicine training with Nutrition, Homeopathy & Western Herbology. Dr. Anton Jayasuriya at The World Congress for Integrated Medicines, Washington D.C. 2004.

For over 40 years Prof. Dr. Anton Jayasuriya of Medicina Alternativa, in Sri Lanka treated more than 2 ½ million patients free of charge and trained more than 40,000 doctors in Complementary Medicines while publishing 99 books about Complementary Medicines, an inspiration to us all.

With the idea of integrating all medicines, in June 2004, Light Harmonics Institute organized for Prof. Jayasuriya to come to Washington DC from Sri Lanka for the 1st Medicina Alternativa World Congress for Integrated Medicine held in the U.S. to honor the work of Medicina Alternativa.

In his speech, Prof. Jayasuriya said “It was time to integrate all medicines for the benefit of all mankind the world over.”

After the sudden passing of Prof Anton in April 2005, the Trustees decided to launch a Global Movement to integrate all medicines and change the direction from a University to a Foundation and broaden the vision and fulfill the wishes of Prof. Anton Jayasuriya.

In May 2006, at the New York World Congress held at the Harvard Club in New York City, 150 participants honored Prof. Anton’s lifework and embraced the theme:

“It is through healing that we unite in peace!”

The trustees decided to launch a Global Movement to Integrate All Medicines and change the direction from a University to a Foundation and broaden the vision and fulfill the wishes of Prof. Anton Jayasuriya.

At the May 2007 World Congress of Integrated Medicines held in Santa Fe, New Mexico, the Global Foundation for Integrated Medicines (GFIM) was launched with a spectacular opening ceremony, and more than 400 delegates and leaders of Integrative Medicines, were witness to a most prestigious event.

Due to the economic global situation in 2008, GFIM postponed its Conferences until 2015.

Since 2015, GFIM has helped to organize World Congresses of Integrative Medicine in Puerto Vallarta, Santa Fe, NM and New York City. Buy your tickets for the upcoming Congress in NYC for April 2019.

GFIM initially plans to be active in New York City, Santa Fe, N.M and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with the hopes of reaching more audiences when possible.
